A bottom pocket net is typically used in shallow water (less than 1 metre) and when retrieved low and slow, forces bait into the bottom pockets.

Our “Special K” (not too heavy not too light), bottom pocket lead-line nets, weigh in at 3.6 kg, 5.4 kg and 6.1 kg for the 8-foot, 9-foot and 10-foot nets respectively. They sink fast while not being too heavy to cast repeatedly on days bait plays hard to get. Unlike chain, a lead line reduces snagging and dredging up rubbish when retrieving in muddy estuaries.

Made of good quality mono, 6 panel, double knotted mesh that hangs nice and straight, these nets are made to last and spread beautifully. Coupled with a knot resistant braided nylon lanyard they are a pleasure to use and fill the gap between expensive custom nets and cheap production imports.

Our 1-inch mesh is perfect for catching good size baits like 4-10 inch mullet. One inch mesh also attracts less weed and reduces by-catch of very small/juvenile fish.
