By the time you read this we'll be on our vacation, travelling down the coast visiting our fishing course students and checking out some great new fishing grounds... and just relaxing a bit!
And boy don't we need it.
I don't know about you, but for us 2016 was a full on year with a lot happening, some major set backs and some major accomplishments as well.
We bought a big boat, launched our new website Fish Smarter with new free training plus two new premium courses and caught a milestone 2000 metre plus barra!

Ryan Moody and his 2000th Metre Plus Barramundi
On a sad note we lost my father in law Barry which was a huge loss to the family and around about the same time our new vessel was badly damaged during a routine refit.
But what doesn't kill us makes us stronger so they say and we have exciting times ahead planned for 2017.
So first up we would like to take the opportunity to thank you for coming on this journey with us.
We really appreciate all our followers and fans, our fishing charter clients, our sponsors and fishing course students. You make our business and the Ryan Moody brand what it is today and we are very grateful.
I'd also like to thank our team - our lovely web developer Michelle (our Aussie in girl in Kiwiland) who keeps all our websites up and running, my brother Ian Moody who has come on board to take over some of my charters, my three kids Jasmine, Jordy and Col, my beautiful wife and of course the delight of all our lives, young Roxy Rudkin-Moody (our dog).
Here's a little clip made for us last year by my mother-in-law Charlotte featuring a few of us including Roxy and I hope you get a laugh out of it - especially the bit where I squeal like a baby before becoming a giant snowball haha.
Please stay safe this Christmas and most of all, enjoy yourselves and don't sweat the small stuff.
If this year has taught us anything, it's that life is short and you really must live your dreams and make the most of it!
Please know that if your New Years resolution involves fishing and catching more fish, we're here to help.
In fact, Ian has kindly offered a 10% discount on 2017 charters if you book before the end of the year! If you'd like to make an charter booking inquiry you can do so here:
Above all, a rising tide lifts all boats so lets embrace our differences, share our common passion and be kind to each other.
Wishing you all the best for this holiday season and into the New Year!
And to close out the year, here's a short boating safety message about boating and drinking, wrapped up in a good dose of humour. You may have seen it before, called "How to dock like a boss".
PS. Two charters to give away!
Our Win a Barra Charter competition gets drawn on 30th December so if you're not yet a member of our fishing community, complete your name and email below for fishing tips and tricks from Ryan and a chance to win one of two 2017 barra charters for two.
One skippered by Ryan Moody and one skippered by Ian Moody.
So enter your name and email for TWO chances to win.
